i made it through a whole year of college without dropping out. amazing.

i'm going owl hunting today.

i hit a deer tonight on my way home from school. i wasn't going that fast and i saw it coming out of the corner of my eye so i had time to slam the breaks before it jumped out in front of me, but i still hit it. it rolled up on my hood then rolled off, got up and ran away. i stopped in a parking lot to inspect the damage and call my parents. there were small clumps of hair but no blood. it busted one of my headlights up a little, but nothing too bad, so i'm hoping the deer wasn't seriously hurt either. i was quite fortunate, though it scared the hell out of me. i'm still a little shaken. i think i will go to bed now.

i went to work with mom yesterday morning on zero sleep. there was some sort of situation with carboard going on. i got to listen to a very serious conference call about it. real offices are boring. i think i'll stick to the one on tv. and i had the worst cup of coffee ever there. we fired it. then we went for a drive because mom wanted to show me where they had started building a nuclear reactor a long time ago, but never finished. i wish i'd had my camera because that place was spooky. it was like an industrial stonehenge. then we had tacos.

today i recovered from my lack of sleep, which means i slept way too late and spent the day feeling mummified. gross. my interview is tomorrow. still nervous, but not as much. i just can't wait to get it over with.

new year's eve was just an excuse to watch the twilight zone all night.

this was amusing. i wasn't actually going to make the cover...but then i got bored.

watching the futurama marathon. this week it's twin peaks by day, futurama by night. sleep is for people who don't watch tv. anyway. here's some stuff from my sketchbook.

i have twin peaks on dvd. i have a ridiculous desire to try david lynch coffee.

sweeney todd might be my favorite movie from this year. either that or the mist. the mist was pretty great.
i'm tired. i didn't sleep last night and then spent most of today sitting in various parking lots watching rabid shoppers run around in a generally panicked fashion. my new favorite place to people-watch is the liquor store parking lot. it's right beside the main road into town, so people are paranoid, running in and out really fast and looking around to make sure no one sees them. heaven forbid someone from church should drive by and disapprove. i also saw identical twins that looked like serial killers, and various dirty rednecks with fascinating* beards.
i'm way past over xmas now. i'm not even excited about the taco party. i just imagine a lot of cheese and grease...and then i want to vomit.

*i googled fascinating, because i wasn't 100% sure how to spell it, and the first link that popped up was for the top ten most fascinating urinals. fascinating indeed.

i keep having the same nightmare over and over. it's starting to disrupt my peace of mind.

it was a mercy killing. he doesn't have to hear christmas music anymore.

i completed my first semester of college ever. it wouldn't be a big deal except everyone, including me, expected me to drop out again. i guess i showed us all.
